Relaxed Rangers ready for game 2 challenge, looking to even series going home

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – They may be down 1-0 in the Stanley Cup final but the New York Rangers are as cool as ice ahead of Game 2.

To a man, the Rangers said they are ready to respond to the Los Angeles Kings after losing the Cup opener 3-2 in overtime. The goal is to even the series going home to Madison Square Garden.

After a day off, New York coach Alain Vigneault reported that his team had a meeting and a good practice at Staples Center and would be ready for Saturday’s contest.

The Kings practised at their training facility in El Segundo.

Los Angeles coach Darryl Sutter said veteran defenceman Robyn Regehr, who has been out since the first game of the Anaheim series, will likely play Saturday.

The Rangers are likely to welcome suspended defenceman John Moore back into the fold.
