‘Veronica Mars’ spinoff among four new web series headed to CTV EXTEND

TORONTO – A “Veronica Mars” spinoff is among four new web series headed to CTV’s digital video hub, CTV EXTEND.

The web series from creator Rob Thomas premieres this fall and is called “Play it Again, Dick.” It stars actor Ryan Hansen as himself, as he begs his former “Veronica Mars” castmates to get his character, Dick Casablancas, his own spin-off show.

A spinoff of CTV’s original drama “The Listener,” called “The Toby Logan Files” and following inspector Brian Becker (Anthony Lemke) as he interrogates characters from special consultant Toby Logan’s (Craig Olejnik) past, is available starting Monday.

“Guidestones: Sunflower Noir,” a spinoff of “Guidestones” starring Supinder Wraich as Sandy Rai, and “Joke or Choke,” a Canadian stand-up comedy competition produced by Howie Mandel, will premiere on CTV EXTEND on July 15.

CTV EXTEND is a free online hub for new web series available at CTV.ca/Extend and on the CTV Go app. Eleven series, including spinoffs of “Saving Hope” and “Arrow,” are already available.

“Veronica Mars” fans recently helped get the cult hit show to the big screen through a Kickstarter campaign that raised more than $5 million.
