911 caller in Tracy Morgan crash describes ‘terrible’ accident on New Jersey Turnpike

TRENTON, N.J. – One witness to the aftermath of the fatal New Jersey Turnpike crash that also injured comedian Tracy Morgan described the scene as “terrible.”

State police released a portion of three 911 calls on Tuesday. One of the callers reports a “terrible accident” with a vehicle flipped over onto its side.

The crash early Saturday killed 62-year-old James McNair and injured Morgan and three others. The driver of Morgan’s limo and another passenger were unhurt.

A Wal-Mart truck driver has been charged with death by auto and assault by auto.

Morgan and two of the injured passengers are in critical but stable condition at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. The group was returning from a show Morgan had given in Delaware.
