BEIJING – Police in northeastern China say they have caught a suspected murderer who has been on the run for 25 years.
The man, identified only by his surname, Guo, allegedly killed six members of a family in 1991 “over a trivial matter,” according to an online statement from Shuangyashan city police. The murders took place in Heilongjiang province’s Raohe county, which borders Russia.
The statement Saturday said that Guo was detained on May 8 in China’s western region of Xinjiang, along with his wife, Wang. She was detained on suspicion of shielding a criminal.
