Here’s what to do with your Christmas tree in Vernon

VERNON – Once the presents are unwrapped, the turkeys have been cooked and the eggnog has run dry, one question always remains after Christmas Day: Where do I put this tree?

The Vernon area has a solution for its residents, offering a simple drop-off site for all former Christmas trees.

Residents of Vernon, Coldstream and BX are invited to deposit their used Christmas trees in the vacant lot next to St. John's Ambulance on 47 Avenue and 20 Street in Vernon, according to the City of Vernon.

Other waste like plastic is not allowed at the site. Christmas trees will not be picked up with regular residential refuse.

The lot is open for drop-offs until Jan. 18, 2021. Christmas trees can also be sent to regional landfills free of charge until the end of January.
