City offers tips to Kamloops residents on how to sort through their holiday waste

KAMLOOPS – This time of the year, your home is most likely filled with plenty of holiday cheer and possibly scraps from the gifts you've wrapped or received — which means you may find yourself with extra waste collected throughout the holiday season.

What do you do with ribbons, wrapping paper or maybe plastic cups and cutlery from family gatherings? Do you recycle it or throw it in the trash?

Luckily, the City of Kamloops has the WasteWise app which allows users to search any item they aren't sure how to properly dispose of.

If you're looking to properly dispose of a Christmas tree, the city has set up several sites across the city open from today, Dec. 27 to Jan. 15.

Check out the map below to find one closest to you.
