Quarterback Robert Marve’s late-game performance a Bombers fan favourite

WINNIPEG – Robert Marve said he felt some “Bomber love” from fans on Twitter after his late-game heroics led to a touchdown to ease the pain of a 24-22 pre-season loss to the Toronto Argonauts.

Marve is one of three quarterbacks coach Mike O’Shea says are in the running to back up starter Drew Willy.

O’Shea says all four will again see action in Calgary when the Bombers play their second exhibition game Saturday.

Willy also didn’t see a lot of action in the loss to Toronto. O’Shea says he wants him to get enough to feel comfortable but he couldn’t say how many plays that might be.

The same goes for Marve, who only took the field at the end of the second half and earned cheers for his 17-yards rushing and seven-yard touchdown pass to Donavon Kemp.
