Alec Martinez scores in double overtime as Los Angeles Kings win Stanley Cup

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Los Angeles Kings have won the Stanley Cup.

Alec Martinez scored in double overtime as Los Angeles edged the New York Rangers 3-2 in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup final.

Marian Gaborik’s power-play goal at the 7:56 mark of the third period tied it at 2-2 for Los Angeles. Justin Williams had given the Kings a 1-0 lead by the end of the first.

Chris Kreider had a power-play goal and Brian Boyle scored shorthanded to give New York a 2-1 lead at the second intermission.
