TORONTO – Toronto FC is on the lookout for help at forward in the wake of Danny Koevermans’ season-ending knee injury.
Head coach Paul Mariner had been after a veteran defender to help boost his backline.
But Koevermans’ injury has left the 4-11-4 team thin up front. Mariner says realistically he does not expect Koevermans back until next May.
The immediate plan is to move rookie Luis Silva up front with Jamaican international Ryan Johnson.
Toronto hosts the 7-11-1 Colorado Rapids on Wednesday night at BMO Field before entertaining England’s Liverpool in a friendly Saturday at Rogers Centre.
