Venezuela president announces Telesur network will broadcast in English beginning in July

LA PAZ, Bolivia – Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro says that the left-leaning Telesur network started by his predecessor Hugo Chavez will begin broadcasting some of its programming in English starting July 24.

Maduro spoke at a gathering of the Group of 77 developing nations being held in Bolivia.

Telesur currently transmits in Spanish on an open satellite signal from Caracas. It is financed by several Latin American governments.
