Police chief: 27 killed in militant attacks on hotels, police station, bank in Kenyan town

NAIROBI, Kenya – Kenya’s police chief says 27 people were killed in a militant attack on a Kenyan town near a popular coastal resort.

David Kimaiyo said Monday the gunmen targeted two hotels, a bank and a police station.

Kenya has experienced a wave of gun and explosive attacks recently blamed on the Somali militant group al-Shabab.
