Seven things to do this weekend in Penticton

PENTICTON – The first weekend of the year is upon us and if you're looking for something to do here are some of the things Penticton has to offer.

Whether you're into sports, music, art or video games here are seven weekend events that might peak your interest.

Vees vs. Silverbacks

It's hockey night tonight at the South Okanagan Events Centre. The Penticton Vees play the Salmon Arm Silverbacks at 7 p.m. tonight. Ticket information is available here.

Penticton Parkrun

Kick off your New Year fitness goals with a 5 km run. You can even bring your dog. Penticton Parkrun hosts free timed runs rain or shine Saturdays at 8 a.m. Go here for more information.

Smash Bros Wii U Tournament

Penticton Sports Cards and Collectibles is hosting a Smash Bros Wii U tournament tomorrow starting a 5 p.m. Go here for more information.

Rob n' Walker CD Release Party

Celebrate the release of a new Rob n' Walker CD at The Dream Cafe tomorrow. Everyone gets a free copy. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Go here for more information.

Soapstone Carving Workshop

Fox Dreamer Energy Centre is hosting a workshop on carving stone bears on Sunday, Jan. 6 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Go here for more information.

Paint Night
