Media Classified acquires City Parent magazine from Metroland Media

VAUGHAN, Ont. – Media Classified Corp. says it has acquired City Parent, a monthly parenting and lifestyle magazine, from Metroland Media.

Financial terms of the deal were not immediately available.

City Parent is focused on articles about family lifestyle, parenting techniques and children.

Media Classified produces 27 niche magazines and distributes hundreds of other publications across major cities in Ontario, Manitoba and Alberta.

It says City Parent is the first publication of its kind in its roster which includes over a dozen different specialized categories such as rentals, training, used cars and health care.

Metroland Media is part of Torstar Corp.

Torstar holds an investment in The Canadian Press as part of a joint agreement with subsidiaries of the Globe and Mail and Montreal’s La Presse.
