Mayor Eric Garcetti declares Kings’ Stanley Cup victory celebration a ‘big F—ing day’ for LA

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – He’s the ultimate button-down, blue-suited mayor. But put LA’s Eric Garcetti in a hockey jersey and there’s no telling what he might do.

Like let fly with the F-word in front of millions as he leads his city in celebration of the Los Angeles Kings’ Stanley Cup championship.

Having shed his pinstriped suit of choice for a hockey jersey on Monday, Garcetti stepped in front of the TV cameras and some 19,000 people gathered at Staples Center, where the Kings won the Stanley Cup on Friday.

He reminded them that one of the first things a politician learns is never be caught swearing.

Garcetti then used the word as he shouted, “But this is a big f—ing day. Way to go, guys.”

The place erupted in a standing ovation as he returned to his seat.
