Man who complained about Manitoba judge’s naked photos questioned by her lawyer

WINNIPEG – A man who says he was sexually harassed by a woman who is now a Manitoba judge is facing questions from her lawyer.

Alexander Chapman is in his third day of testimony at an inquiry into his complaint against Justice Lori Douglas.

The judge’s lawyer asked Chapman why he kept nude photos of Douglas — which had been provided by Douglas’s husband — after agreeing to return them in 2003 as part of a settlement deal.

Sheila Block also asked Chapman why he signed that agreement in 2003, then went public in 2010, five years after Douglas was appointed a judge.

Chapman testified he doesn’t remember signing the agreement, even though it bears his signature, and feels the deal violates his right to file a complaint against Douglas.

Douglas’s husband, Jack King, has admitted to harassing Chapman, but says Douglas never knew about it.
