Playwright Hannah Moscovitch among 2014 Trillium Book Award winners

TORONTO – Celebrated Toronto-based playwright Hannah Moscovitch is among the winners of this year’s Ontario Trillium Book Awards.

The multiple Dora Award winner landed the $20,000 English-language Trillium prize Tuesday for “This is War” (Playwrights Canada Press/Banff Centre Press).

Toronto-based Marguerite Andersen took the $20,000 French-language book prize for “La mauvaise mere” (Editions Prise de parole).

The poetry winners, who receive $10,000 apiece, were Souvankham Thammavongsa for “Light” (Pedlar Press) and Daniel Groleau Landry for “Rever au reel” (Les Editions L’Interligne).

Last year Alice Munro was among the winners of the prize, which was established by the Ontario government in 1987.
