Flurries will turn to rain this week in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS – A chance of flurries will turn into a chance of showers as Kamloops experiences another warming trend as the week progresses.

Today’s, Jan. 8, high will only reach -4 Celsius under increasingly cloudy skies as nightfall brings with it a 30 per cent chance of flurries, rising to 60 per cent tomorrow with a high of -2 C expected.

Environment Canada meteorologist Bobby Sekhon says Kamloops will likely only see scattered flurries and showers through the week, although the Coquilhalla Highway could see five to 10 centimetres of snow on tomorrow.

Precipitation will turn to showers on Thursday as the high jumps to 7 C, with a 40 per cent chance of showers through the day and overnight.

Friday will see a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 4 C along with a 30 per cent chance of showers overnight.

Normal temperatures at this time of year in Kamloops are highs of -1 C and lows of -8 C.
