Let the waxing begin, Big White to open in one week

KELOWNA – It may not be the earliest opening in Big White’s history, but downhill ski enthusiasts could probably care less.

Big White Ski Resort is going to fire up the some of their lifts on Saturday, Nov. 16.

The mountain has a 65 cm base with more snow expected between now and the planned opening.

The ski hill had been on track to open at the end of the month. There has been so much snow in the last week, resort president Peter Plimmer decided to open up the slopes next Saturday.

Big White had a very limited opening in the last week of October in 2001 and 2002.
