Five children rescued after investigation that targeted child sex offenders

HALIFAX – The RCMP says more than 150 people have been arrested or are under investigation as part of a national operation that targeted alleged child sex offenders.

The Mounties say five children were rescued since the operation began in February.

Investigators say two of those children are from British Columbia, and the other three are from Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick.

The sweeping investigation involved more than 40 police agencies.

The RCMP says more than a million images were seized, some involving infants.
