Police tweet may have scrubbed B.C. man’s plans for cleaning spree and party

NANAIMO, B.C. – Police may have scrubbed a Nanaimo, B.C., man’s plans for a clean house before the big party.

RCMP say the 35-year-old is accused of stealing at least two vacuums and a barbecue grill from area businesses.

Mounties say they tweeted a photo of the suspect from a surveillance camera that showed him walking out of a store with a $700 vacuum.

Const. Gary O’Brien says the picture was retweeted repeatedly and someone called police to report the man had just walked into a mall, where he was taken into custody.

The suspect spent a night in jail before a court appearance scheduled for Thursday.
