Veteran receiver Romby Bryant among 14 cuts by Toronto Argonauts

TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts have released 14 players, including veteran receiver Romby Bryant.

Bryant missed much of last season after being injured in a pre-season game against Montreal at Varsity Stadium. He was limited to eight receptions for 91 yards and two touchdowns.

Bryant’s best season was with Calgary in 2010, when he had 78 receptions for 1,170 yards and 15 touchdowns. He was also part of the Stampeders team that advanced to the 2012 Grey Cup against the host Argonauts. Toronto won the game 35-22.

Over parts of six CFL seasons with Winnipeg, Calgary and Toronto, Bryant has 304 receptions for 4,557 yards and 33 touchdowns.

Other players released are: receivers Tore Corrado, J.D. Falslev, Evan Pszczonak and K.J. Stroud; offensive linemen Kirby Fletcher and Thomas Griffiths; defensive linemen Dexter Davis and Padric Scott; defensive backs Alonzo Lawrence and Andre Martin; linebacker Eddie lackey; long snapper Michael Benson; and kicker/punter Josh Jasper.
