Canadian soldier pleads guilty to disgraceful conduct charge
GATINEAU, Que. – A Canadian soldier has pleaded guilty to a charge in a case involving a sexual misconduct allegation.
A statement from the military says the National Defence Act charge against master warrant officer Alan Chapman related to an act of sexual misconduct against a female member of the military in Cyprus in 2010.
Chapman pleaded guilty to a charge of behaving in a disgraceful manner when he appeared Monday at a court martial in Gatineau, Que.
A military judge ordered Chapman be fined $2500 and have his rank reduced to that of warrant officer.
Chapman was also charged with one count of sexual assault, but the judge ruled that charge not be proceeded with.
