The officials say Wednesday’s blast occurred inside the Duroy Hotel in the Raouche district along the Mediterranean Sea. No further details were immediately available.

The explosion is the second to hit the Lebanese capital in days. A suicide bomber blew himself up near a checkpoint outside a cafe just after midnight on Monday.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity in line with regulations.
