Kamloops RCMP seek suspects of second Movie Mart robbery
KAMLOOPS – Kamloops police are seeking help in identifying two men who robbed Movie Mart yesterday.
One man entered the Movie Mart in the 300 block of St. Paul Street yesterday, Jan. 19, at about 1:10 p.m., a media release says.
The man had his face covered and was carrying a box knife.
He jumped over the counter and had the employee open the cash register. He then took money from the register and left the store heading west on St. Paul Street, then south through the east parking lot of the Double Tree Hotel towards the back alley.
The clerk was not injured.
The suspect is described as 5' 8", 160 lbs and Caucasian. He was wearing a black toque, black bandana, grey zipped-up hoody, blue jeans, grey running shoes and black gloves.
Police are saying the suspect met with a male associate in the back alley.
The second man can be described as about the same height and size as the first suspect. He was wearing a black baseball cap, a black pea coat with a grey hoody underneath, blue jeans, and white running shoes with light blue shoe laces. He was carrying one medium-size red and black "Under Armour" duffle bag.
This is the second robbery at the Movie Mart in just over a week.
Kamloops RCMP are still investigating and cannot confirm whether both incidents are related yet.
