Cowboys WR Dez Bryant’s attorney says no crime occurred during family dispute with mother

DALLAS – Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant’s attorney says Bryant and his mother can work out any differences through counselling.
Authorities say Angela Bryant called 911 after a July 14 incident in which her son hit her with a hat and grabbed her shirt, causing it to tear. Dez Bryant was arrested two days later. His mother has told authorities she doesn’t want to pursue the case.
Dallas prosecutors are currently considering a misdemeanour family violence case against Dez Bryant.
Dez and Angela Bryant attended a Tuesday press conference held by attorney Royce West, but did not speak. West said his client was not guilty of anything criminal and that both Dez and Angela Bryant love each other.
The NFL and the Cowboys have declined to comment.
