Environment Canada issues dust advisory for Vernon
VERNON – Environment Canada has issued a dust advisory for Vernon, due to a high concentration of coarse particulates in the air.
Conditions are likely to persist until there is a change in weather conditions, according to a special weather statement issued by Environment Canada.
It recommends those with chronic underlying medical conditions should refrain from strenuous exercise until the advisory has been lifted. Exposure is of greater concern to infants, the elderly, and people with diabetes, and lung or heart disease.
Environment Canada recommends staying indoors and in air-conditioned spaces to help reduce particulate exposure.
