Vernon RCMP hope someone recognizes theft suspect

VERNON – RCMP are releasing a photo and description of a suspect allegedly involved in a theft in Vernon nearly two months ago.

According to a press release, police responded to a reported theft at a Vernon grocer on Dec. 2, 2018. Surveillance footage showed a man entering the back of the business and allegedly stealing an unknown amount of money from a safe.

The name of the store and the time of theft was not disclosed by RCMP.

Police say the suspect in the photo is a non-Caucasian man wearing a light coloured sweater, a backpack, an Under Armour ball cap and dark pants.

Anyone with information on the theft is asked to contact Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP at 250-545-7171 (reference file 2018-28508) or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
