Mitt Romney looking to build ties with British leaders, meeting with prime minister and others

LONDON – Mitt Romney is meeting with former Prime Minister Tony Blair as he begins a day of meetings with British officials in London.

Romney and Blair on Thursday exchanged pleasantries and discussed the Olympics at the start of a planned half-hour meeting at Blair’s private offices in central London. Blair led the Labour Party and now serves as a special envoy to the Middle East.

Romney also plans to meet with current Prime Minister David Cameron and several other British leaders Thursday. He is in Britain to attend the opening of the Olympic Games.
