Goldcorp posts 45% drop in second quarter earnings – gold prices under pressure

VANCOUVER – Goldcorp Inc. (TSX:G) is reporting second-quarter net earnings of $268 million, or 26 cents per diluted share, compared to $489 million, or 52 cents per diluted share, in same period last year. Revenue came in at $1.1 billion for the quarter compared to $1.3 billion year over year. The Vancouver-based company says gold prices remained under pressure for much of second quarter.
