LAVAL, Que. – Jean-Sébastien Dea scored and added two assists as the Laval Rocket blanked the Abbotsford Canucks 3-0 Saturday in the American Hockey League.
Kevin Poulin stopped all 15 shots he faced to earn the shutout.
The victory snapped a two-game slide for the Rocket (25-18-3).
Abbotsford (24-18-4) had a three-game win streak snapped as the Canucks were on their heels right from the get-go, surrendering 17 of Laval’s 29 total shots on goal in the first period alone.
Canucks goalie Michael DiPietro made 26 saves in defeat.
The game got a little chippy at times between the two sides, resulting in a fight between Abbotsford’s Alex Kannok Leipert and Laval’s Danick Martel. Both teams combined to amass 36 penalty minutes on the afternoon.
