Kelowna RCMP looking witnesses to shooting

KELOWNA – Kelowna RCMP are asking for witnesses to a shooting last week to help out with their investigation.

On Jan. 31 just before 9 a.m., a shooting occurred at the 1900 block of Baron Road. The victim, 49-year-old James Leon Barg, was taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound.

According to a press release, an investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Police have gathered information which leads them to believe the shooting was not a random attack.

"Violent crimes such as these cannot be allowed to go unsolved and those responsible should be held accountable," said Cpl. Meghan Foster in the release.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
