Rock Hall plans Everly Brothers tribute show in Oct.; surviving member Don Everly to attend

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Rock and Roll of Fame will honour the Everly Brothers with a tribute concert this fall.

The Rock Hall announced Thursday that surviving member Don Everly will appear at the Oct. 25 event at PlayhouseSquare’s State Theatre in Cleveland.

Phil Everly died from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease earlier this year. His older brother said in a statement that he wishes “Phil were here to share this honour.” Don Everly also thanked the Rock Hall and the duo’s fans “for keeping the Everly Brothers alive.”

Singer Rodney Crowell will work as the musical director for the concert, which will take place during the Rock Hall’s 19th annual “Music Masters” series. Performers will be announced at a later date.

The Everly Brothers were inducted into the Rock Hall in 1986 and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001.
