Kelowna ready to Light Up! downtown

KELOWNA – Get ready Kelowna, because Santa isn’t the only thing coming to town.

The 26th annual Light up! Christmas event is happening Saturday in locations all around downtown.

The yearly event starts with free skating at Stuart Park, a Santa Shuffle Race at Prospera Place Plaza, play activities and a bouncy castle for the kids, lantern making and photos with the big man in red himself.

There is also cookie decorating at the Laurel Packinghouse, apple cider and assorted activities at the Orchard Industry Museum, complimentary wine tasting at the BC Wine Museum, holiday crafts and the Reindeer Roundup Scavenger Hunt at the library.

There will also be live entertainment, festive food and an evening art market leading up to the main event at 5 p.m. Santa himself will light up the community tree and Kelowna Rotary’s Festival of Lights display at Kerry Park.

Most events are free of charge and open to all ages. For more information, visit the Downtown Kelowna website.
