Sick kid rules out Bieber and Disney World, dreams of volunteering at orphanage

EDMONTON – A 10-year-old girl recovering from a rare form of cancer has made an unusual request to the Make-A-Wish foundation.

Isabella Tonn of Edmonton could have asked for a new iPad, a hug from Justin Bieber or a trip to Walt Disney World.

But she says it’s her dream to volunteer at an orphanage.

So Isabella and her family are packing up donations of clothes and toys and heading to an orphanage in Mexico early next month.

The girl says she just wants to help people and make them feel loved.

An official with the Make-A-Wish charity says sick kids get to pick whatever will bring them happiness, and notes it isn’t common for them to dream of doing volunteer work.
