Kamloops man stabbed in the back

KAMLOOPS – A drunken fight between 2 friends landed one in hospital with a knife wound and the other in jail.

Wednesday night around 9:45 p.m., RCMP were called to an apartment building in the 700 block of Columbia Street West where they found a man with a knife wound in his back.

The victim was loaded into an ambulance and taken to Royal Inland Hospital. He was treated for a few hours and released.

Police found their suspect in the same apartment building and slapped on the cuffs. He didn’t put up a fight.

A 56-year-old Kamloops man is scheduled to appear in court Monday facing a charge of aggravated assault.
