ABBOTSFORD, B.C. – Fire officials in Abbotsford, B.C., aren’t saying exactly what sparked a blaze that destroyed the barn of a well-known commercial farm and tourist attraction, but the incident is now being called suspicious.
A release from the Abbotsford Police Department says major crimes detectives are working with fire officials in the Fraser Valley city.
Flames were spotted in the barn at Maan Farms just before 1 a.m. on Monday.
By the time crews arrived the large red building was engulfed and little could be saved.
The building contained everything from offices and banquet hall to a market and small winery but a petting zoo that is also operated at the site was not involved.
No humans or animals were hurt.
