RCMP still looking for suspect in convenience store robbery

PENTICTON – Penticton RCMP are seeking public assistance in identifying a man alleged to have robbed a convenience store in Penticton over a week ago.

Police were called to the 24/7 Convenience Store at 702 Main St. on Feb. 6 around 5:50 a.m. after staff reported being robbed by a knife-wielding man, Penticton RCMP spokesperson Const. James Grandy said in a press release issued today, Feb. 14.

The man was reported to have entered the store, displayed the knife and motioned for the clerk to open the cash register, who handed money over to the man, who then left the store.

Police are releasing surveillance footage of the man in hope the public may be able to identify him. He was wearing an orange hoodie sweater, dark coloured pants and black and white athletic shoes.

A clerk at the same store was assaulted by a shoplifter last month.
