
UPDATE: Batchelor Heights subdivision reopens after police shooting
KAMLOOPS – An arrest has been made and most residents can again access their homes in the Batchelor Heights area.
The area was closed early in the morning Dec. 3 after an RCMP officer was shot. The 40-year-old, 13-year veteran was sent to Royal Inland Hospital for surgery and he is currently listed in critical but stable condition.
Residents still affected by the evacuation in the Grasslands Boulevard and Raven Drive area are able go to the Parkside Lounge at the Interior Savings Centre. They will be notified when they can return.
Mounties said a limited number of homes in the area are being evacuated while others area allowed to stay in their homes.
School District 73 was aware of the closure and amde arrangements for students who were affected by this.
