Ford dynasty? Rob Ford’s 20-something nephew to run for Toronto council seat

TORONTO – Toronto may have a new Ford in town come this fall.

Rob Ford’s nephew Michael Ford has registered to run for councillor in a west-end ward currently held by the mayor’s brother, Doug.

Media reports say the younger Ford is in his early 20s and is the son of Rob Ford’s sister Kathy.

Michael Ford’s Facebook page — which features a campaign-ready photo of him in suit and tie — says he graduated high school in 2010, works for the family’s sign company and is currently finishing college.

Doug Ford, who is serving as his brother’s campaign manager, isn’t running in the October 27 election.

The councillor’s seat, in the heart of so-called “Ford Nation” that Michael Ford is vying for, was held by Rob Ford for 10 years until he ran for mayor and was succeeded by Doug.
