Air Canada flight from Edmonton lands safely in Toronto after declaring emergency

TORONTO – Air Canada says a flight from Edmonton landed safely in Toronto on Sunday morning after declaring an emergency.

Spokeswoman Isabelle Arthur said in an email the emergency was declared after a flight control indication light came on.

Arthur says the Airbus 320, flight AC1174, had 87 passengers and six crew members on board.

She says Air Canada is taking are of the passengers and the plane is being inspected.
