Boil water advisory issued for District of Hope in British Columbia

HOPE, B.C. – A boil-water advisory has been issued by the District of Hope.

The town says bacteria was found in a water sample, and utility crews are responding.

Residents are advised to boil water to a rolling boil for two to three minutes.

Boiled water should be used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and making infant formula.

Private water systems and some areas of the district are not affected by the advisory, and residents are asked to check the town’s website for further details.

The district did not say if anyone has become sick from drinking water.
