Toronto-area man faces dozens of child porn, sexual assault charges

OTTAWA – A man from Brampton, Ont., is facing dozens of charges for allegedly sexually abusing young boys and sending videos and photos of the assaults through the mail.

Police in Ottawa say 52-year-old Scott Waldo Fraser faces 42 different charges, ranging from sexual assault to making child pornography and extortion.

In April, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service tipped off Toronto police about a Canadian who was suspected of abusing boys and distributing images of the assaults.

The alleged assaults took place in the Ottawa area between 2002 and 2008 and allegedly involved boys aged 9 to 17.

Peel Regional Police searched a Brampton house in May and arrested Fraser.

He is scheduled to appear in an Ottawa court on Aug. 2.
