DeLaet, Furyk tie Royal Montreal course record at Canadian Open

MONTREAL – Canada’s Graham DeLaet has a share of the course record at Royal Montreal.

DeLaet and two-time Canadian Open champion Jim Furyk tied the mark with rounds of 7-under 63 today at the RBC Canadian Open.

DeLaet and Furyk were playing in the same threesome along with Matt Kuchar, who shot 65. That put the trio at an impressive 19-under on the day.

The big rounds moved Furyk into a tie for the clubhouse lead and DeLaet into third, with several golfers still on the course.

The last Canadian to win the national championship was Pat Fletcher in 1954 at Vancouver’s Point Grey Golf Club.
