Minor injuries as CN train hits logging truck near Burns Lake, B.C.
BURNS LAKE, B.C. – CN Rail crews are cleaning up after an eastbound train rammed a loaded logging truck just a few kilometres west of Burns Lake, B.C.
RCMP Cpl. Jack Ashford says the crash happened Friday morning at an uncontrolled crossing, where drivers are required to look both ways before crossing the tracks.
Ashford says a crew member was treated at the scene for a bloody nose and the driver was checked over and released from hospital.
Emily Hamer with CN Rail says 22 cars and two locomotives from the train were knocked off the tracks.
She says all the goods on the train were household items and nothing dangerous was being transported.
Ashford says CN has taken over the investigation of the crash, and the cleanup is expected to take two days.
