Metal Fest 2019 announces line-up heavy with Okanagan talent

ARMSTRONG – Heavy metal bands from the Okanagan will represent almost a quarter of the headbanging acts who will take to the stage at this year's Armstrong Metal Fest.

The 11th annual Armstrong Metal Fest has recently released the line-up for the two-day heavy metal festival that takes place July 12 and 13 at the Hassen Arena in Armstrong.

Over 30 bands will play the festival coming from as far afield as California, New Jersey, Paris and Slovenia, but Okanagan bands feature heavily in the line-up for the festival dubbed by organizers as a "mountain moshpit."

Kelowna bands Apollyon, Arkenfire, and Death Machine, along with Enderby's Nomad, Peachland's Indecipherable Noise and Armstrong's Odinfist will be taking to the stage to play to the roughly 700 strong crowd who are expected to come out for the weekend.

US death metal band Origin will headline the festival along with goblin inspired band Nekrogoblikon. Other prominent metal bands sure to get the crowd moshing include Betraying the Martyrs, Wake, Entheos and winners of the Wacken Metal Battle Canada 2018 competition, Centuries of Decay.

The not-for-profit organization West Metal Entertainment, who put on Armstrong Metal Festival each year, are currently appealing for volunteers who will receive a free general admission ticket for helping run the event.
