Canadian country stars Dean Brody and Dallas Smith making stop in Penticton

PENTICTON – A pair of country music icons will grace the stage at Penticton’s South Okanagan Events Centre this fall.

Dallas Smith and Dean Brody come together for the “Friends Don’t Let Friends Tour Alone Tour,” making a stop at the events centre on Friday, Oct. 25, 2019.

The pair have multiple Juno and CCMA music awards to their credit as two of the most celebrated artists in Canadian country music.

Both musicians have new music coming out, Smith with “The Fall” to be released March 15, and Brody with the new single, “Whiskey in a Teacup,” coming out March 8.

Smith is the only Canadian country artist to have four consecutive number one singles from the same album, while Brody is known for his unparalleled ability to bring storytelling to the forefront of country music.

Joining the duo in Penticton as a special guest will be country star Chad Brownlee with his new single, “Forever’s Gotta Start Somewhere,”  and MacKenzie Porter with his recently released tracks, “Drive Thru,” and “About You.”

Tickets go on sale Friday, March 8 at 10 a.m. Tickets are available at the Valley First Box Office at the events centre, charge by phone at: 1-877-763-2849, or order online at: www.livenation.com or www.ValleyFirstTix.com

I have been looking for news in the South Okanagan - SImilkameen for 20 years, having turned a part time lifelong interest into a full time profession. After five years publishing a local newsletter, several years working as a correspondent / stringer for several local newspapers and seven years as editor of a Similkameen weekly newspaper, I joined iNFOnews.ca in 2014. My goal in the news industry has always been to deliver accurate and interesting articles about local people and places. My interest in the profession is life long - from my earliest memories of grade school, I have enjoyed writing.
As an airborne geophysical surveyor I travelled extensively around the globe, conducting helicopter borne mineral surveys.
I also spent several years at an Okanagan Falls based lumber mill, producing glued-wood laminated products.
As a member of the Kaleden community, I have been involved in the Kaleden Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years, and also serve as a trustee on the Kaleden Irrigation District board.
I am currently married to my wife Judy, of 26 years. We are empty-nesters who enjoy living in Kaleden with our Welsh Terrier, Angus, and cat, Tibbs.
Our two daughters, Meagan and Hayley, reside in Richmond and Victoria, respectively.
