Kelowna man $1 million richer after lotto win

KELOWNA – A Kelowna man is going to be walking around with quite a bit of spare change after winning big in a lottery draw last week.

Ross Kulak from Kelowna won the $1 million guaranteed prize in the Lotto 6/49 draw on Feb. 27, according to a B.C. Lottery Corporation media release. Kulak matched all 10 numbers in the draw to win the big reward.

“I was at the grocery store and thought I’d check my ticket and see if I had any small wins to pay for my lunch,” Kulak said in the release. “I couldn’t process what I was seeing in front of me."

He bought the winning ticket at Peter's Your Independent Grocer in Kelowna.

Kulak said while he doesn't have any big plans for the money, he does want to take his friends out for dinner.

"This will help with the bill," he said.
