Second suspect charged after investigation into Mountie shooting
KAMLOOPS – A second suspect was charged Thursday afternoon in relation to a shooting that left a Mountie in intensive care earlier this week.
Marquee Jasmin Klim, 28, has been charged with willfully resisting or obstructing a peace officer on Dec. 3. Police say during their investigation and hunt in search of the man who shot the officer, they encountered Klim who gave a false name. Her relationship with Knutson, if any, is unclear. Police haven't said if she was found in the same home as Knutson.
Kenneth Michael Knutson has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault of a peace officer, possession of a firearm while prohibited and discharging a firearm with intent to wound, maim, disfigure or endanger life.
The shooting resulted in a 12-hour manhunt throughout the Batchelor Heights neighbourhood. The search included the use of the Emergency Response Team, the K9 unit and an RCMP helicopter.
Both suspects remain in custody. Klim's next court appearance is December 11, while Knutson will appear in court by video conference December 18.
On Thursday afternoon, Cpl. Cheryl Bush said police were determining if charges were warranted against three female suspects. So far, Klim is the only female who has been charged, according to police.
Cpl. Jean-Rene Michaud, the RCMP member who sustained gunshot wounds early Wednesday morning remains in intensive care after undergoing a second surgery Thursday evening. Cpl. Cheryl Bush, a spokesperson for the Kamloops RCMP, said Michaud, his family and members of the detachment are thankful for the ongoing support as Michaud continues his recovery.

MEDIA SUCKSIf you cant get your story straight then you shouldn’t report it……Marquee Klim had NOTHING to do with the shooting, was no where near the car or the police officer. She was at the house when they came to arrest Knutson, Marquee had an outstanding warrant for not appearing for court 2 months earlier….She has NOT been charged with anything at this point, and there sure won’t be any shooting charges.Knutson was not her boyfriend. If I was Marquee I would sue the medias ass off as this is BS plastering her name and face all mover social media stating she was charged in the shooting incident when it is ALL FALSE.You people that take the medias reports at face value are the sickoseveryone knows the media only reports what they think will get them the most viewings and ratings.
that is sad seems like when people are abused by police no media but as soon as they get hurt full blown story sad.
