The Latest: Missing woman found alive in Lancaster

LOS ANGELES – The Latest on the search for a woman who went missing over the weekend (all times local):

Los Angeles police say a woman who went missing over the weekend, leaving behind her phone and abandoned car, has been found alive in the high desert.

Police say 28-year-old Laura Lynne Stacy was spotted walking on the side of State Route 14 in Lancaster Wednesday, about 40 miles from where she was last seen. Her car was found abandoned in the desert area Tuesday night.

She was spotted by LAPD detectives who were heading to join the investigation.

Stacy recently moved to Los Angeles from the Denver area. She was last seen Sunday in the Hollywood Hills area. Later that day, her phone was found in a puddle at a Santa Clarita park.

Stacy was taken to a hospital for examination but there’s no word yet on what happened to her.

Authorities say an abandoned car found on a remote street in northern Los Angeles County appears to belong to a 28-year-old woman who went missing over the weekend.

Los Angeles police say Laura Lynne Stacy was last seen Sunday in the Hollywood Hills area.

Stacy’s phone was found later Sunday about 30 miles away in a puddle of water at Golden Valley Park in Santa Clarita.

Late Tuesday a tow truck driver found a car in Lancaster matching the description of Stacy’s 2005 Acura.

Stacy’s parents, police and volunteers are searching the area Wednesday around where the car was found.

Police say the Colorado native is 5-foot-8 and weighs about 130 pounds. She has blue eyes and blond hair.
