WILD WEDNESDAY: Some ways to avoid attracting bears to your yard this spring

With spring right around the corner, WildSafeBC is reminding everyone to take down their bird feeders as bears wake from hibernation.

Every year there are about 300 calls to the B.C. Conservation Officer Service regarding bird feeders attracting wildlife, according to WildSafeBC.

WildSafe says taking down bird feeders is a great way to keep communities safe and reduce bear attractants from one's yard.

It's also a good time to check your cans of bear spray before the start of the hiking season and replace them if needed.
